1. Be a nomad
Be as nomadic as possible in your start up,(Nomand - Mobile, tents, offensive, hunters, protein. V’s Sendetary - Settled, buildings, defensive, gatherers, carbs)
- Be nible and flexible - unlike fixed companies that might be set in there ways.
- Go out and get what you want - Most larger companies that are established defend what they have got for a reason.
- Use your high energy to do it - Settled business model have usually lost some of there spark utilise this.
2. Live in harsh conditions
Tough your self up to the hard times and make your self a fitter person, you will then be able to use these negative points to your advantage.
- Set yourself up in a field where you can remove the difficult steps through your experiences
- High stress areas where other don’t want to enter will allow you to take the advantage.
3. Look efficiently
Good to great companies - looked at there field in a simplified manner and as such don’t over complicate simple things.
- Remember “profit per x” - use all your tactics to maximize the amount of loot you can return to your tribe.
- when looking at objectives Remember what is your x and how to you get in most efficiently.
4. Say no to infantry
Gengis khan only had cavalry, because this gave him maximize mobility. To add to this his horses were small yet faster which made them easier to care for horses - also they had two horses per rider alternating day by day so that they never got tired.
- Get people into your environment and playing field to stand a better chance of winning.
- Remember that because so one else is doing it does not mean it is the best way to do it.
5. Get the people talking as early as possible.
Win the war as fast as possible
- One way to do this is by getting people excited beforehand
- Let your users know what you are doing this allows you to get feedback before you start
6. Do not fight the enemy by there rules
Gengis khan would not storm a castle he would build a wall around the castle making the people inside prisoners.
- Do not fight the against the something that is already established, create your own battle field
- Don’t always take things head on, think around the problem.
7. Appropriate the best people and skills for your war machine
Don’t acquire the machine get the person who created the machine to create newer and better one.
- Don’t get the best technologies for your start up its about the best people that are resourceful that can then over come the problems you face with technology which will solve more problems.
8. Build bridges
Gengis Khan knew that with out bridges he was limited by the rivers that surrounded him.
- Make connections with people, share your knowledge and information and people will share back and you can build relationships.
9. Inspire fierce loyalty
When Gengis’s armies went to war he promised to look after the families of the soldiers to gain there loyalty.
- If you can create a confident bond with making users happier you will create the loyalty you will need to succeed.
10. Remember the lesson of the many headed snake
The many headed snake could not decide which hole to use in winter and the different head pulled against each other and when winter came he died. The many tailed snake did not have the trouble choosing and survived.
- Remain focused
- Don’t diversify until you are capable
