SXSWi 2007 summary
So South by Southwest Interactive 2007 has come to a close and after a flight back to Gatwick on Wednesday / Thursday we are now back at home. We thought it’d be a good idea to highlight some of the best panels and other things from our trip.
Best panels
The list below covers our favourite panels from SXSWi 2007 (alternatively you can view all the panels we attended)
- Web Typography Sucks
- Why we should ignore users
- Design Patterns: Defining and Sharing Web Interface Design Languages
- Grids Are Good and How to Design with Them
- After the Brief: A Field Guide to Design Inspiration
- How to Create A Kickass In-House Design Team
- The Growth and Evolution of Microformats
- Bullet Tooth Web Design: Plan Your Web Site like Pulling off a Robbery
- Uniting the Holy Trinity of Web Design
Other highlights
- Twitter, twitter and more twitter - with seemingly every panel mentioning it and every audience member doing it, how big will microblogging become?
- The Web Awards - how funny is Ze Frank!?
- Will Wright keynote - the demo of Spore was a definite “wow” moment.
- Agile development and extreme programming were mentioned more than once - something we should probably look into more.
and finally…
- Getting soaked during a massive storm after a the Web Awards party… I thought Texas was supposed to be sunny!
- BBQ, Tex-Mex, steaks and pancakes for breakfast… Austin is a food lovers dream!
This blog will remain here for reference purposes and we will of course update it with new articles if any new juicy info comes to light. In the mean time, feel free to leave us a comment at the bottom of this article if you have any thoughts about SXSWi 2007 or this blog.
